Mr. Martijn Duvoort is working for DNV KEMA as project manager and is team manager of the Markets and Regulation team. As such, he is responsible for studies regarding the functioning of energy markets and the position of individual players in their market environment. With a Ph.D. in physics he combines an analytic mind with excellent communicative skills.
Before joining DNV KEMA he worked for over 4 years in an international scientific collaboration, challenged by aligning a team of international researchers. Working for DNV KEMA he is active as project manager in a wide range of projects, ranging from electric mobility to nuclear. His main focus lies at infrastructure related projects and market planning analyses. His expertise includes management of planning and design analyses for LNG terminals. He is market expert in LNG markets, pricing and contracting structures. He has provided decision support for the planning of new infrastructure, but also optimization of operational processes. His procurement expertise includes equipment procurement and decision support for container terminals.
He is used to work with international multidisciplinary project teams. As such, he is project manager of a large European project aiming to design a new price-based market structure for real-time power management and is work package leader responsible for the demonstration studies of the final project concept. Furthermore he has been engaged in reviewing management processes in electricity companies. Managing a project team he combines a clear result oriented focus with a solid view on the wider business. Dr. Duvoort is used to realizing challenging goals in workshop and training environments. He has a drive to make people enthusiastic and is geared towards maximizing the output of group sessions in a vibrant and energizing manner.
